watching: the good fight

The Good Wife may have begun as a showcase for Julianna Margulies, but it blossomed so readily into network television’s best ensemble that Margulies’s later-season efforts to refocus the drama (on and offscreen) around herself constituted a huge drag. It comes as no surprise, then, that The Good Fight, liberated from the demands of its previous title-holder (not to mention CBS’s censors) is an absolute joy to behold.
